Sharing skills and Education

This week the devastating news that salons have been forced to close their doors as the Covid 19 pandemic reaches fever point has knocked the industry for six. Yet while each of us takes the time to digest what this means for hairdressing and particularly your business, we’re already hearing stories of positivity and the sharing of skills and education. Paul Edmonds for example is challenging his team to take take part in daily education, while Barrie Stephen is giving £20 vouchers to NHS workers. Gary Taylor of Edward and Co and Austen Thomson have made light-hearted videos on how clients can deal with their roots. Love them all! You don’t need us to tell you that our industry is all about sharing and caring but perhaps once the dust has settled, try to use this time to make the most of all the free education that is being offered and ensure that as hairdressers you go back to the salon stronger than ever. Here’s our pick of the best education platforms out there, all being offered to you for free…

The Fellowship for British Hairdressing is making its online education platform, #THEKNOWLEDGE free and accessible to everyone to support the industry during the pandemic. Essentially a library of videos covering inspiration, education and innovation, #THEKNOWLEDGE features Fellowship members and industry icons, including Karine Jackson, Robert Masciave, Sam Burnett and Robert Eaton. New videos are added to the channel weekly, with more interviews, short films and tutorials to come.
