Scrummi launches new recycling scheme

Scrummi, the B-Corporation certified salon and spa towel company announces a new recycling scheme in partnership with Recorra. As a leading commercial recycling specialist, Recorra pride themselves on delivering ‘real recycling’. The joint initiative will make it easier for Scrummi clients to recycle their used towels and sheets. It’s so great to see brands doing what they can to support more sustainable business practices. Hopefully this inspires others to think about the environmental responsibility they have and the importance of recycling!

Why Scrummi?

Although Scrummi products will break down within household waste they are sustainable and biodegradable which makes them an excellent choice. Perfect for use in the salon and for clients to use at home as well. By partnering with Recorra, Scrummi is able to introduce a competitively priced, kerbside recycling service to their London and South Coast clients. The service will be an ideal and environmentally friendly way to dispose of Scrummi products.

Scrummi’s partnership with Recorra means Scrummi towels and sheets are turned into high-quality PAS100-certified compost in just 10 weeks at the UK’s largest composting facility in Cambridge. Scrummi products are certified compostable and are great for creating nutrient-rich compost. If you’re looking for a way to be more sustainable in the salon, using Scrummi towels could be a great start.

Scrummi users can sign up to the service directly with Recorra and they’ll take care of everything for you. Recorra will even sell you compost made from used Scrummi towels if your garden needs some extra oomph.

Rob Cooper, founder and managing director at Scrummi says: “Sustainability is at the core of our business; we’re always looking for ways in which we can encourage Scrummi clients to be more sustainable and to make it as easy as possible for them to do so. We are excited about our partnership with Recorra, which will make recycling Scrummi towels easier than ever and is something that we’re looking at rolling out across the UK over the coming year. I’d like to encourage all Scrummi salons within the M25 area and the South Coast to sign up and get involved.”
