Salon groups give back to key workers #WorksForUs

You don’t need us to tell you that hairdressers are charming folk. We’re an industry of sharers and carers and heart warming tales of how you’ve shared knowledge or offered a hand to someone in need are plentiful. But this week we’ve been particularly touched by stories of salon groups giving back to the NHS and key workers fighting the global Covid 19 pandemic on the front line. As part of our #WorksForUs campaign we shine a spotlight on the community spirit of Tommy’s Hair Company and KH Hair….

North Wales salon group Tommy’s Hair Company has recently launched www.TommysLoveAndCare.co.uk, in order to give something back to key workers who are currently fighting the global pandemic. The website allows users to go on and nominate a key worker, whom they feel deserves a treat (as soon as is allowed) for their commitment to the community during these difficult times. Users are asked to log-on to the website and provide the name and contact details of their nomination. TLC will run until government restrictions are lifted and Tommy’s will then choose up to 30 key workers, who will receive a voucher to use at their discretion for a service of their choice.

Round of applause to KH Hair Group, which has just signed a new corporate partnership agreement with NHS Charities Together. The East Midlands-based salon group, which is celebrating its centenary in 2020, is well-known for its charitable ethos, having supported the NSPCC’s Childline for the past 10 years and raising over £60,000 for the charity.

KH Hair Group managing director, Darren Messias says: “There can be no doubt in how hard our NHS workers have to toil, day in day out. I believe this is a fantastic, long-term opportunity to thank and support our NHS. At some point in all our lives, we or a loved one will have been helped by this tremendous service. We look forward to our teams getting involved in a variety of fundraisers and we know we can rely on our wonderful clients and business partners to support us so we can raise as much money as possible over the coming years.”
