Let’s hear it for the girls! This week as part of our Shine – empowering women in hairdressing campaign, we’re giving a huge high five to RUSH Hair Education Director Paola Pinto and her team, who have collaborated with Girls V Cancer, a charity founded to support and connect with those affected by a cancer.

Founded by Lauren Mahon, a breast cancer survivor, Girls V Cancer provides women with a platform of support and guidance through times of hardship and emotional suffering, while making them feel empowered and part of a family.

Changing perceptions

In an effort to change people’s perception of cancer, Paola and her team have helped Lauren to open the channels of dialogue helping to create photographic shoots and campaigns. The most recent shoot (pictured), features Lauren and a group of friends shooting in a block of flats. Stripped back and raw, these images are super successful of exemplifying the power and strength of the women. According to Paulo, RUSH is definitely on board for the next shoot!

“To be a part of this incredible movement with Lauren is an honour,” said Paola. “Both Lauren and her team are a true inspiration and are establishing a great community network for those affected by cancer. On each campaign we are so lucky to meet some amazing people and making them feel good about themselves is something I am truly honoured to be a part off.” We hear you Paola. Amen.
