The buzz around Fashion Week isn’t over yet. Adding to the buzz, stylists from Roar Hair & Beauty attended London and Paris Fashion Week to work on shows backstage. Even when salon-based, a stint of session work at is a great way to improve your speed styling, working under pressure and practicing working with various styling products. All good skills for taking back to your team. Read on to hear what Leo, Aiman and Gavin from Roar Hair & Beauty got up to backstage…we hear they had a lot of fun.

Goldwell had invited Brian “Leo” McCallum, Roar Hair & Beauty salon owner, and Aiman Azam, Roar Hair & Beauty designer stylist, to join the Odete DaSilva team and style hair at Global Fashion Collective shows. Designers included WooLeeX, Forsen International and Gigi Wang Fashion Studio.
All about the hair
At the shows, Leo and Aiman put together creative and beautiful looks. One of the key styles included a clean middle parting, with hair braided down to the nape of the neck. The rest of the hair fanned out from the braid, creating volume, and was wrapped in two messy buns. A second key look was a slicked-back style. The team spritzed the hair with water to gain control before using a gel to sleek back the look and fix in place.
Paris
Gavin Jamieson, Roar Hair & Beauty art director, was invited to Paris Fashion Week with Global Fashion Creative to style hair for designers, including Louren, BRNTW and Par Jane. What a line-up! The first day was all about wet looks, including slicked-back ponytails and buns. The second day was focussed on more natural looks, plus glamorous old Hollywood waves.
Leo says: “Myself and Aiman had an incredible experience at London Fashion Week, and Gavin had a fantastic experience at Paris Fashion Week with Global Fashion Collective. We love working in the salon, but we always look forward to these opportunities too, which allow us to create high fashion, commercial looks for the models and that give our stylists unique experiences outside of the salon.”
