Noco Hair Salon gets a brand new look on BBC’s Interior Design Masters

A thrilling semi-final for the BBC’s Interior Design Masters gave hairdressing a bit of much-needed air time. For anyone not following, each week a set of amateur interior designers has been set the challenge of giving different rooms and spaces a make-over. For the penultimate episode, the show producers opted for hair salons and we loved it! Hosted by Alan Carr, this is a great format for anyone enjoying a makeover show (that’s us then) and obvs, having it hair focussed is a bonus.

Here’s how it worked:

Three salons were selected in the Bristol area, including McQueens, Hobbs, and Noco Hair Salon. As avid fans, we can’t resist giving a shout out for our favourite to win, competitor Jack. He won over the judges – us, too! – with his makeover of the salon owned by business partners Noel Halligan and Corey Taylor. They set up in 2018 and were keen to enjoy an uplift courtesy of the show.

The design process involved in-depth consultations to understand the profile of the Noco guests, their customer journey and what Noel and Corey wanted as a the desired atmosphere. Jack created a unique Japandi-style that blended Scandinavian and Japanese design elements. The finished look was certainly impressive. Quite a change.

We really liked it, but what about the team at Noco Hair Salon?

Noco co-founder Noel Halligan says: “The show approached us and firstly we said no as we liked the salon as it was. But then we thought, why not, and we’re really pleased we did. The clients love the new design and that we are featured on the popular TV show.”

There you have it. Nothing ventured nothing gained as they say. And props to the teams at McQueen and Hobbs – send us your photos and we’ll share, them also!
