Legends of British hairdressing

The great and good of hairdressing gathered at London’s sought after, Electric Space for the launch of Mark Woolley’s Legends of British Hairdressing, raising over £5,000 for the Hair & Beauty Charity.

Mark created the Legends of British Hairdressing – a unique screen print – featuring over 150 of the most influential people in the hair industry to date.  Award winning art printers Harwood King produced 150 limited edition signed and numbered prints along with 10 framed artists prints, of which L’Oreal Professionnel Paris, Wella Professionals, Salons Direct, Kao Salon Division and Alan Howard have already committed to buying at £900 each.

The evening’s raffle raised £1200 with lots of smiles as the winners walked away with top of the range prizes including: a night for two at the Kimpton Fitzroy Hotel, movie screening with wine at the Electric cinema, dinner for two at Circolo Poplare and original artwork kindly donated by Sally Brooks.

The three-storey townhouse welcomed guests including Trevor Sorbie, Keith Harris, Sally Brooks, Lee Stafford, Anthony and Pat Mascolo, Angelo Seminara, Darren and Jackie Ambrose, Phil Smith, Karine Jackson and Akin Konizi.

Mark said “It was fantastic to have so many inspirational people in one place, raising money for the Hair & Beauty Charity and I want to thank everyone for coming and putting their hands in their pockets. There are still a few prints left and we need to deliver Sam McKnight’s to him so if anyone wants one, I suggest they get one ordered quickly.”

The Hair & Beauty Charity helps hairdressers, barbers and beauty professionals in need and in the last decade has provided over £1.3million funding, creating a better future for those in the industry facing financial difficulties and providing support services, self-help tools and expert advice.
