Laura Chadwick creates a wet-look on Becky Hill

Celebrity hairstylist, Laura Chadwick created Becky Hill’s wet-look hair from the Outside of Love music video. Laura shares a step-by-step guide to recreating Becky’s wet-look hair.

Step by step

1. Start with clean, damp hair. Apply a generous amount of strong hold mousse evenly throughout the hair to provide staying power for the texture that will be added later.

2. Divide the hair into manageable sections and blow-dry the product thoroughly into the hair whilst smoothing with a round bristle brush, creating a great base for the style.

3. Take a small/medium-sized curling tong and begin tonguing sections of hair from mid-lengths to ends. Hold the tong for a few seconds to create loose waves, alternating the direction of the curls for a natural look.

4. Once all sections are tonged, liberally spray a strong-hold hairspray over the entire head to set the curls and add texture. Be sure to hold the hairspray bottle at a distance to avoid creating a wet or sticky appearance. Repeat a few times to be sure all the hair has a covering of the product, helping to seal the texture.

Wet Look
5. After applying the hairspray, take your oil-based cream in your palms and gently run it through the hair, focusing on the mid-lengths and ends. This will enhance the wet look while maintaining the texture created by the tonging.

Final Touches
6. Use your fingers to tousle and shape the hair into the desired style, ensuring that the wet look is evenly distributed throughout. You can also use a wide-tooth comb to gently comb through the curls for a softer, more natural finish.

7. Once you’re happy with the texture and saturation of the hair lightly mist with a shine-enhancing spray to add extra gloss and hold the style in place. By following these steps, you can achieve Becky Hill’s wet-look hairstyle from her music video while retaining texture and dimension in the hair.
