Only a couple weeks ago, when things were still normal before isolation, Jonathan Andrew provided his support to the ClubStar Art Team and shared some good knowledge.
Education is at the heart of the Fellowship for British Hairdressing, with countless mentors generously donating their time to support others in the industry through ongoing skill development and training. Emerging talent is everything and this is what the ClubStar Art Team is here for; to provide education and opportunities for those aged 16-25. Jonathan Andrew was the latest mentor to give up his time for the team, sharing men’s hairdressing techniques – with cutting, styling and shooting demos.

Useful tipsThe day started with an inspirational talk from Jonathan. He shared his career journey to date and talked about what has shaped him as a hairdresser. Additionally, he gave a lot of career advice.
Next, it was time to get hands on with two live cutting and styling demos on models. Crucially, Jonathan showed the team how to create multiple looks on a single model for a photoshoot. And then, how to create strong, striking shots for social media. Who doesn’t need to hear this now?
“Jonathan taught us so much, but the best thing I took away from the day was that you don’t need a big expensive photoshoot project to create some great looks and get some brilliant content for social media” team member, Jack Anthony said.
Sam Arnold agrees, adding: “Jonathan showed us how to create cohesive men’s looks, and shot an awards-worthy collection just on his phone with two models. I learnt so much and am now feeling much more confident.”
