Living it up in the beautiful Verdura Resort in Sicily – where the Queen of Sweden was staying no less – members of KAO Salon Division’s exclusive salon business networking club had a trip to remember earlier this month.
Only in its third year, the HUB Network event has grown year-on-year to become one of our favourite events on the hairdressing calendar thanks to its roster of inspiration speakers, expert presentations, business insights and networking opportunities. Plus, all important time to relax and recoup factored in – aided by the five-star spa and choice of not one, not two, but three golf courses available on-site at the resort. Yikes!
Speakers
The seven speakers at this year’s event were immense. From outside the industry came insights from performance psychologist Simon Clarkson; a self-made millionaire at 26 and social media mogul Steven Bartlett; the first person to walk the length of the Amazon river, Ed Stafford; and art historian and lecturer for the TATE and V&A museums, Claudia Antonia Merkle.
From within the industry, the 170 HUB Network members also had the opportunity to hear from CEO of the NHF, Hilary Hall; professional coach David Drew; and senior consultant trichologist, Trisha Buller. Cleverly intertwined, the flow of speakers and their variety of perspectives, life experiences and acumen made for a truly inspirational event and plenty of food for thought for all involved.
The 2019 event came to a close with a wine-tasting experience held outdoors in the amphitheatre, surrounded by olives groves and followed by a traditional Sicilian dinner and an after-party. Roll on 2020, we say!
