The Scandi Effect
This aesthetic, which has been taking over social media, is now making its way into the chair as hair looks requested. Blondes with cooler, softer roots. A look that can be tailored to each client with different levels of depth, dimension, and brightness.
Seung Ki Baek, creative colour expert at Rush hair, shares his technique for this look. To mimic where the sunlight naturally brightens the hairline, a glowy, face-framing effect. A more natural look, often involving lightening the finer baby hairs around the hairline, blending seamlessly from the forehead into the lengths. It’s a great option for those clients looking for a low-maintenance option to keep a bright blonde, with no harsh growth.

The Rise of the Fringe for Men
As men experiment more freely with personal style, fringes are becoming a frequent request for grooming. Beyond adding movement and framing the face, it adds an effortless edge. It changes the character of a haircut.
Fringes are here to give classic men’s cuts a modern edge. As they frame the face, it’s important to consider the face shape of the clients. Great examples are Jacob Elordi, Timothée Chalamet and Matt Smith. Different lengths and textures, but definitely showcasing their personality, and rocking the ‘effortlessly cool’ look.

To master this look, Andy Heasman, international creative director at Rush Hair, recommends long layers, and for the mohawk part of the look, a shorter layer towards the crown of the head, to leave space to style regularly as desired. This look is a way to elevate a classic cut while tapping into an inner punk with a fresh contemporary approach.
