Stylist Joana Neves travels the world with the hair teams at many Fashion Weeks in different countries, and we are jealous. Luckily for us, Joana has recreated some of the looks she styled recently for Dior’s Haute Couture show this Spring. Read on for a step-by-step guide you can recreate for your clients in the salon to help them achieve that ‘Fashion Week glow’.
Step 1 of the Fashion Week look
Begin with smoothed, straightened hair and part at the centre. Place a hair clip 2cm away from the root, this will be the place for your first wave. Take another section of hair approx 3-4cm down from the first clip, and slightly pulled back from the first, to create a wave effect. Then secure in place with a clip.
Step 2
Repeat this wave and clip process working down the hair, until you reach the mid section of hair. Secure any additional loose hair with hair slides, repeat on other sides.
Step 3
Lightly spray Alterna My Hair My Canvas City Shielding Hairspray across waved sections. This will keep the waves in place.
Step 4
Lightly spray Alterna My Hair My Canvas City Shielding Hairspray on the back of the hair to create a strong surface. Secure the bottom of the hair with slides to keep in place, as shown above.
Step 5
Gently remove hair clips, ensuring the wave effect is kept in place. Use a small barrel tong and lightly create a half curl in the loose ponytail section. Repeat on the other side.
Step 6
Once all clips are removed, spray hairspray to finish the look.
We hope to see more of this simple yet effective look.
