En Route Hair & Beauty in Wakefield is now a certified ‘Mindful Salon’…well done! The certification comes as the salon supports its team’s professional and personal development while delivering excellent customer care. In case you’re unfamiliar, The Mindful Salon certification is a CPD-accredited mindset course by Salon Jedi. The purpose is to help salon professionals understand their behaviour and that of others. It also focuses on how mindset can help you achieve goals and aspirations.

Melenie Tudor, owner of En Route Hair & Beauty, says: “The mental health and wellbeing of our team is something we take seriously. Without our team firing on all cylinders, we wouldn’t be able to deliver the high-quality experience that we do.
“Undertaking the Mindful Salon certification is our way of giving our team the time and space to think about what they want from their career, enhancing skills to make them intuitive stylists and create the right mindset for productivity and job fulfilment.

Taking part in the course was a team-wide effort. En Route closed for the day giving its stylists the space to focus so that they could prioritise learning.
Melenie says: “We wanted to make this experience enjoyable and special, so we closed the salon, provided breakfast and lunch and ensured there was lots of opportunity for our team to support one another. After the training, we ran a wellness workshop for the team and a meditation session. This was a nice way to round off the day and create positive energy and enthusiasm.”
