Can you cut it?

The International Precision Cutting Championships (simplified as the IPCC ) is now in full swing! For hairdressers in the UK, France, Belgium, Italy, North America and a host of other countries, there’s still time to make the cut.
The deadline for entering the first round of this megawatt cutting competition is next Sunday at midnight. You have 7 days (up to 11th July)  to perfect your precision cutting and show off your skills in this major competition. Don’t be the one who wishes they had!

This is the easiest cutting competition to enter, and the most prestigious to win.

Oh so simple…

Precisions cutting is about clarity, purpose and technique when you work. To enter this 2021 championship, ANYONE in the UK (or check for your own country if reading this outside the UK) can work on a doll-head, show a cut requested by the judges, up load to IG using a purpose-made hashtag, and you’re in with a chance. For the opening heat, it’s a round graduation and you must photograph from front, sides and back. Upload by midnight on 11th July. A panel of prestige judges will decide the top 10 cuts to progress to heat 2. A reprise:

  1. Present a round graduation on a doll-head
  2. Snap three different angles of the cut – as shown below
  3. Upload the three photos to instagram using #IPCChampionshipuk to tag the organisers. They’ll pick it ups that way:

Why you should take part

Follow @ippc_uk to get lots of tips, ideas and feedback including access to training videos and interviews with the competition founder, Dove Palmer. This is a fantastic learning opportunity! By heading over to the @ippc_uk Instagram page you can find an incredible amount of support to guide you through the competition. And what’s even better is you can take down you’re entry and replace it with an even better one. You’ve got to be in it to win it right?

We were lucky enough to pin down Dove Palmer,  the brains behind the IPCC for a chat. It’s defiantly worth catching up on the conversation to find out more and the benefits of taking part. You can watch it HERE
