Designer duo Fyodor Golan’s show at LFW was playful and bright with Teddy Boys/Girls, Historical and Punk themes to grab attention. A wise move on their part to nab Johanna Cree Brown (Creative Director of Special Projects at Trevor Sorbie dontcha know) to create 21 unique hair looks for their models. We adore her brave use of colour to both challenge yet augment the story of the clothes, with the hair either taking weeks of construction prior to the show, or being created live. How about blue gel delicately being poured onto a model’s head to create a marbled effect, or neon powder thrown onto a blonde wig at show time! Hairdressing rock ‘n roll!
Always pushing the boundaries with her creations, Jo explains the partnership: “I’ve known Fyodor and Golan for several years and we’ve worked together on their look books. They’ve been really supportive of my work and any time I do hair shows they kindly give me clothes for the models, so I’ve got a really good relationship with them.”
