50 NEW WAVE Creatives list

The British Fashion Council (BFC) has unveiled its 2020 NEW WAVE: Creatives list, which celebrates the 50 most emerging talents from around the globe. The dynamic list of innovative and inspiring young creatives includes trailblazers from across multiple disciplines; artists, activists, casting agents, commentators, florists, writers, set designers, image makers, stylists, and, of course, 6 hair artists and we couldn’t be more excited and proud of our talented community!

This year’s New Wave recipients were chosen by last year’s winners, with the final 50 selected by the BFC’s newly-assembled Steering Committee – a group comprising some of the industry’s most widely respected voices including well known fashion editors and directors, designers and models.

This time, calls for industry-wide change have been louder and more urgent than ever – from sustainability, to equality and diversity, and this list spotlights the next generation of creatives who are shaping the future of fashion and making changes happen.

The final list, available here, is a resource for the global fashion industry and highlights London’s position as an international hub of creativity, while celebrating those who play a vital role in the industry’s cultural reputation. The list of 50 names includes creatives from countries around the globe.

The talented hair/make-up/nail artists are: Cécile Paravina, Gemma Smith-Edhouse, Issac Poleon, Isaac Yu, Janina Zais, Kalle Eklund, Kiyoko Odo, Latisha Chong,  Patrick Glatthaar, Valentina Li. Congrats, guys!

The final 50 will be celebrated as part of The Fashion Awards film, which will premiere on Thursday 3rd December 2020 on fashionawards.com to celebrate the people and organisations who have led change in the fashion industry in 2020.

By becoming part of this year’s NEW WAVE: Creatives list, the group will benefit from direct, ongoing access to the Steering Committee; A dedicated, sustained communications campaign including international PR, year-round social media support across the BFC’s channels, and a purpose-built portal on the BFC website acting as a go-to resource for the industry to facilitate recruitment of exceptional talent.

Keep on creating, keep on bringing the change and make our industry proud!
