Spotlight on Atherton Cox Academy

It’s nothing new for a hairdressing brand to open an academy but what is refreshing at the Atherton Cox academy is that there are only four courses to choose from, run by some of the best names in the business. This mighty salon brand is so passionate about its craft that it focuses its education on four main areas and teaches the courses with total precision.

The courses

Based in central London, the Atherton Cox Academy has created a selection of one or two day courses that teach hair stylists at all levels in a combined demonstration and practical workshop format the skill they need to excel in Men’s, Bridal Hair and Session Hairdressing.

The educators

Kerry Hayden is the brand’s most senior men’s hair stylist. She’s been specialising in men’s hair for over 30 years and has a reputation for expertly tailored barbering. Kerry is in Guido Palau’s hair team working at the men’s catwalk shows in Milan, Paris, London and New York for designers including Prada, Versace, Louis Vuitton and Dior.

Andrew Curtis is a highly experienced educator specialising in men’s hairdressing. He has a training style that is both unique and inspiring, leaving his students motivated and confident in all aspects of men’s styling. His passion is to educate and bring out unique strengths in future stylists by developing and nurturing their confidence enabling them to become their very best.

Desmond Murray is a two-time winner of the BHA Men’s Hairdresser of the Year, and finalist several times over in the London Hairdresser of the Year category. He is also an accomplished and highly sought-after photographer. His work is the choice of many other salons for their BHA entries.

Cassandra Rizzuto is one of the most coveted wedding hair stylist in the country with an A-list client list that includes royalty and numerous celebrities. Her work is often seen in high-end magazines such as Vouge, Hello, and Tatler.
