An award-winning Woodhall Spa salon is making high-quality hairdressing education more accessible by bringing some of the industry’s leading educators directly to Lincolnshire.
After years of travelling across the UK for training, re:new Hair and Beauty by Expressions co-owners Julie Charles and Wendy Griffin decided it was time to bring education closer to home — not only for their own team, but for neighbouring salons too.
The first event in the new Rendezvous re:new education series took place on Monday 29 June, welcoming award-winning cutting specialist Davide Spinelli for an exclusive afternoon masterclass.
Professionals travelled from across the region, including teams from Lincoln and Skegness, to watch Davide Spinelli, founder of DS Hair Education, demonstrate three contemporary haircuts and share the precision techniques behind his work.
The response was certainly encouraging, with every attendee signing up for the next event before leaving.
“It was always us that had to travel, whether that meant heading to London, Manchester or further afield,” says Julie. “The cost, time and logistics can be a real challenge, especially for independent salons and their teams.
“We thought, why not bring great education to Woodhall Spa instead? This wasn’t just about our own team — it was about creating opportunities for neighbouring salons too.
“The response has been fantastic, and it’s been brilliant to see local hairdressers come together to learn, share ideas and be inspired.”
Founded more than 21 years ago, re:new Hair and Beauty by Expressions has built a reputation for client care, continued professional development and strong links with its local community.
The salon was also recently named Best Regional Salon – Midlands at The Hair Awards 2026.
The next Rendezvous re:new event will welcome North Eastern Hairdresser of the Year Emma Simmons for a session focused on curls on 28th/29th September,
