Let’s face it, 2020 has been a shocker so it’s exciting to hear Revlon Professional is encouraging clients to only look forward, with its new care line Re/start. Rooted in science, the new range combines the best of skin and hair care for a healthy new start for all.
Start at the scalp
Healthy hair starts with a healthy scalp and Revlon Professional Re/start has been especially formulated to care for the scalp by fusing proven skincare ingredients with advanced haircare solutions to deeply nourish, hydrate and strengthen hair every day. All skin needs to be treated, repaired and nurtured including your scalp. However, scalp health is often neglected as it is covered by hair, this neglect can lead to scalp skin becoming more sensitive and prone to redness, inflammation, dryness and itchiness.
The Microbiome balance
A balanced scalp has the perfect amount of good and bad bacteria creating beneficial microorganisms. Any imbalances can increase the presence of suboptimal microorganisms which can have a negative effect on the scalp. External disturbance of the microorganisms, collectively referred to as the microbiome, can come from UV rays, chemicals, hair pollution, stress, age, genetics and even over-washing. When considering a healthy diet, we are familiar with the need to have a balance of good and bad bacteria in the gut. A balance of good and bad bacteria is also needed on the scalp. After years of research we have created the Re/start Kerabiotic System, which fights suboptimal microorganisms allowing beneficial microorganisms to grow – thus cultivating the perfect environment for hair to grow.
The extensive range has been split into five sub-categories Reveal Hydration, Renew Volume, Revive Color, Restore Strength and Regain Balance, so that stylists can tailor the appropriate products to their clients’ hair type.
