Let us introduce you to Seung Ki Baek, a true wizard in the world of UV Colour. Seung isnât just any stylist; he’s a Creative Colour Expert at RUSH Hair and a star member of their Artistic Team. And, not to mention he’s bagged the British Hairdressing Awards Southern Hairdresser of the Year title three times. Yep, in 2010, 2013, and 2023!
Seung is what we call a ‘triple threat’. Heâs not just a master of colourâthink natural hues, pastels, bold shades, and even those mind-blowing UV coloursâbut heâs also a genius when it comes to cutting and styling. Whether itâs a sleek bob, a sharp razor cut, or a textured mullet or shag, Seung does it all with finesse. His inspiration? Red carpets, of course! From high ponytails to intricate braids, he brings that star quality to both models and clients.
Creativeness
Now, let’s talk about his creative flair. Seung doesnât just do commercial looks; heâs all about those avant-garde styles that let his creativity shine. He shared some of his favourite creations with us – which are nothing short of spectacular.
First up, there’s this precision bob thatâs sleek and elegant with a twist. Infused with petrol colours, it creates a stunning gradient effect, making the simple bob pop with unique flair and shine.

Feeling adventurous, Seung also stepped out of his comfort zone with a collection thatâs all about pushing creative boundaries. Picture this: wig cutting, intricate styling, and mesmerizing UV colours. One of his standout looks features UV hues combined with fishnet-style braiding. Itâs like a hypnotic piece of artâthe more you look, the more intricate details you discover.

Another jaw-dropping creation which combines all three skills beautifully. Inspired by Balmain catwalks and oceanic vibes, this look uses ribbons of colour to highlight the cut and add movement and shine. It’s got that ethereal, aquatic essence thatâs simply breathtaking.

Seung says…
âHair colour, cut, and styling are interconnected aspects that complement and enhance each other. Itâs so important they should all harmonise, as each element contributes to the overall aesthetic, and when they work together seamlessly, it enhances the overall look.
The right hair colour, cut, and styling can enhance the client/model’s facial features and bone structure. For example, a well-chosen haircut can frame the face and draw attention to the client/model’s best features, while the right hair colour can complement their skin tone and bring out their eyes.
The colour, cut and style are all powerful tools for self-expression and by coordinating these elements, clients can communicate their personal style, personality, and creativity. They allow them to showcase their individuality and create a unique look that represents who they are. When creating imagery for a photoshoot, using all three aspects together allows you to create a more stand out, strong and expressive image. â
