Portsmouth-based hairstylist Carol Ritchie brought some vintage glamour to the world-famous Goodwood Revival weekend, creating stunning, era-perfect hairstyles that bring the 1940s, 1950s, and 1960s to life.
The festival annual transports visitors back in time to celebrate the golden age of motorsport, fashion, and culture, with the iconic Betty’s Salon at the heart of the action. For Carol, who own Carol Ritchie Bespoke Hair in Southsea, Portsmouth, Goodwood Revival has become an annual tradition having worked there since 2019. From elegant 1940s victory rolls and glamorous 1950s pin-up curls to the bold, voluminous beehives of the 1960s, she transformed guests into vintage icons, ensuring their look was as authentic as the cars and costumes that make the event so legendary.
“Goodwood Revival is truly like stepping back in time,” Carol says. “Every year, I feel lucky to be helping people complete their vintage look and seeing their faces light up when they see the transformation is why I love being part of it.”
