Quif Centre Stage Winner, Amelia Wilmott has revealed the inspiration and technique behind her winning look. This is ‘Flame Flow’, a vivid, movement-driven creation inspired by the wild, fluid nature of fire.
Flame Flow
βFire was my inspiration, not just in colour but in motion,β Amelia explains. βI wanted to capture the way fire moves, flows, and shifts in temperature. Fire is wild and uncontrollable, and that mirrors how I want to push myself creatively β always challenging boundaries.β
To bring this vision to life, I created a layered flame effect using a combination of Quif Magi Colour and the Quif Blastrange. I began by establishing a deep, impactful root using Magi 6.0 and 66.66 with 20 vol. Through the mid-lengths and ends, I used a freehand method to paint ribbons of 88.66 with 10 vol alongside Magi Light Bond with 10 vol, creating strategic βhot spotsβ that would allow brighter tones to ignite throughout the hair.

I then glossed the look with a blend of reds, oranges, and yellows from the Quif Blast range, achieving a seamless transition reminiscent of rising heat. To expand the temperature spectrum even further, I incorporated hand-coloured extension wefts using blues and purples β shades often found in the hottest parts of a flame. These were added throughout the look to enhance tonal dimension and visual intensity.
The finished style was completed with a layered haircut and a textured wave to emulate movement and fluidity. Using The Shed styling products from Alan Howard including Beach Bum Spray, Force Field, High Rise, Get a Grip Powder, and Mirror Mirror Spray.
Amelia added: βLooking ahead to colour trends for 2026, I expect to see a shift towards, blended, dimensional colour that feels luxurious and wearable. Reds and coppers will still be a huge trend for next year, weβll also see lots of creative statement looks which are made more weaeble for every day with bold colour placements becoming mainstream. I believe that Flame Flow embodies this direction, expressive yet wearable and high-impact yet refined.β
