Achieve Peach Hair with Suzie McGill

Spring’s trending colour will leave your clients wanting a peach of it. Say hello to Pantone’s Colour of the Year – Peach Fuzz. This velvety, gentle peach hue is the perfect balance between pink and orange, making it the beautiful warm, but delicate tone for colourists.

Pantone Colour of the Year

Pantone describes this colour as encapsulating feelings of warmth and intimacy with others, with this shade embracing our ‘mind, body, and heart’. The shade offers a change from the bright, bold colours that have been dominating the runways recently, offering a gentler, airier hue.

Feeling Peachy

This creamy pastel peach shade is completely customisable to your client, using varying degrees of pink and orange. The colour compliments almost all skin tones and styles, and with golden tones blended seamlessly throughout, peach fuzz is soft yet bright and saturated.

Over to you Suzie…

We chatted to Suzie McGill, Artistic Director at Rainbow Room International about how to achieve pastel, peachy, perfection.

Suzie shares: “I’ve seen a lot of clients trying to achieve the Peach Fuzz colour in the salon, and I’m totally here for it! This bright peachy hue is perfect for the transition to spring, with hints of rose gold and apricot hues blended throughout, which brightens the client’s overall appearance and energy – just in time for spring!”

Suzie adds: “To achieve the perfect Peach Fuzz hue, pre-lighten the hair until you reach a level 9/10, this will add vibrancy when applying your colour. I’d recommend using the Schwarzkopf Professional BlondMe Premium Lightener 9+, then follow with the Schwarzkopf BlondMe Premium Developer 2% 7 Vol. After rinsing and gently cleansing the hair, mix Schwarzkopf Igora Vibrance 7-77 and 5-57 with 1.9% Activator Gel. Apply this to the roots to add definition to the colour. For the ends, mix Schwarzkopf Igora Vibrance 9.5-18 and 9.5 – 17, with 1.9% Activator Gel, and pull through the lengths. Allow the colour to process for at least 30 minutes, then rinse and style as desired.”

Suzie adds: “Peach Fuzz has been making waves in both the creative and consumer industry, and I can’t wait to see the colour evolve over the year. I think Peach Fuzz is here to stay!”
