In troubled times, creativity flourishes it seems – certainly this Mannequin collection from Marlon Hawkins is inventive and spectacular in equal measure.
Mannequin collection
It’s been a long 12 months to stay out of the studio for most of the industry, but incredible to see the resilience and resourcefulness of creative hairdressers. This collection from Marlon, recently announced as the new artistic director for the über-talented Sally and Jamie Brooks at Brooks&Brooks in London, is stunning. This is what he tells us:
“With more free time than ever before, I created my Mannequin collection – a group of images that used my creativity through colour and avant-garde styling. Using hair pieces, mannequin heads and my iPhone camera, I created a collection in a totally organic way. The hairdressing industry is rich with inspiration, but I looked outside the industry to give me a new take on the work I do – art, fashion designers, people walking down the street and much more.”
Marlon is no stranger to winning awards – 2020 winner of The Big One trophy for colour – and certainly one to watch. Visit @marlonjhawkinsMore Hair Inspo HERE
