Luxe

Andrew Barton has us dreaming of fabulous hair at every length with the new Luxe collection for Racoon International.

“The Luxe collection is the ultimate before and after transformation, with the lengths of the shapes taking their que from fashion (skirt lengths). The shapes cut in lengths including Micro, Mini, Midi & Maxi and coloured in stunning colour placements including Colour Contour & Colour Movement,” says Andrew.

True to Andrew’s signature hair style of hair beauty each hair has a luxurious feel with texture and movement and seamless use of hair extensions. Working with the Racoon Artistic Team each model wore two looks with the hair styled to redefine the traditional image of hair extensions.

Before

Luxe maxi

For this look we used a mix of Bond, Link, and Weft extensions for bespoke placement. Random layers were applied by using a freehand seamless layering technique to add movement while retaining weight. Shine line colour gives shadows of multi-tonal shades to create movement throughout the hair. Smoothing creme adds a velvet-like texture with the hair wrapped around a wand to give rippled movement.

Luxe mini

Bond link extensions were used to achieve bespoke tailoring. Incorporating a deep fringe detail, the hair was shaped into a mid-length bob line by using a texturising technique at the tips of the hair and throughout the internal layering to create soft movement and seamless shaping.  Colour technique contour was used to give sun-kissed tones of light in the front area and add movement and definition to the shape. A tousled wave effect adds movement and texture – hair was randomly wrapped around an iron to give a multi textured effect and then texture shine spray applied to finish.

Luxe Midi

A selection of bond, link and weft extensions were chosen to achieve a personalised bespoke result as each system gives different benefits. Once applied a concave outline shape was cut using a razor on the tips of the hair and random A-line layering applied throughout to give a curved silhouette. A global creme tone was added to create luxurious hues. Hair was smoothed with a large tong, with sections wrapped around in different direction to to give a tousled effect.

Luxe micro

Inspired by graduated bob shapes this update on a classic look is textured throughout using both scissors and razor and vertical layering techniques. Bond and Link extensions were finely placed to add colour and length – creating an overall rich chocolate tone with golden hues that also add texture and movement. A smoothing iron was used to make the hair kick out to add texture and finished with texture spray for movement.
