La Galerie de Cheveux

Improving our understanding of working with Afro hair is essential for all hairdressers and salons. This conversation with hairdresser Daisy Rutendo Musona – delightfully named queen executive officer at Queen Diva Boutique –  was inspirational and informative. And we love the collection that accompanies it, titled La Galerie de Cheveux.

Daisy says it’s important that the beauty of a black queen is captured while wearing the different textures of wigs. The photographs are intended to depict the feminine, independence, boldness and sexuality of a black queen. For La Galerie de Cheveux the Queen Diva team worked with photographer Margarita Lievano (@Madeinlondon.photo); the result is a number of looks that demonstrate perfectly Daisy’s view.

“Your hair is your crown and as a black woman we wear our beautiful natural hair in different textures with so much pride. On the other hand, we also love to protect our hair from damage being the reason why we wear wigs, we also like to switch up our look and still fell sexy, confident and unstoppable. The images shot by Margarita also demonstrate that beauty is not only limited to how we feel inside but how our hair looks also plays a huge part. The model and photographer were able to bring this vision to life during this shoot by capturing the beauty of a black woman while also wearing a long straight wig, afro curly wig and a long deep-wave wig” Daisy says.

The team at Queen Diva demonstrate that beauty is not limited to only wearing our natural hair. You can also invest in good quality wigs and still wear them as your crown to enhance your beauty and protect your hair while still feeling and looking beautiful.
