Amani

Amani is the 2023 Fellowship F.A.M.E. Team collection, created with mentor Sally Brooks. In this gorgeous Afro hair collection, the F.A.M.E. Team had the opportunity to work with award-winning hairdresser Errol Douglas M.B.E. and Avlon UK. The team line-up includes James Parr at Nashwhite, Edd Moss at Headmasters, Stacey Wright at McKoy Hair Company, and Steph Gallagher at Wonderland. They have certainly gelled to make a great working party, and this collection proves just how talented this year’s team is.

Inspiration behind Amani

Amani refers to ‘peace’ in Swahili and ‘wishes’ in Arabic. This collection explores shape, colour and placement. In some looks, there is a bright pop of colour, creating an eye-catching point of difference. There is a diverse range of cuts and styles here, so you have plenty of inspiration. If you’re looking for ways to style Afro hair, Amani shows endless options. This is a fabulous example of what comes from connecting with others and collaborating on projects.

The F.A.M.E. Team are presenting at Hair Pieces: The Big One 2023, get your tickets here.

October was Black History Month, and we were bewildered that in 2023 we are still trying to push salons to include cutting, styling and colouring services for Black and Afro hair. Click to hear from hairdressers who are experts in working with Black and Afro hair on the matter.
