Jo Martin & Melissa Timperley are renowned good communicators in the hairdressing industry, as educators and leaders. But how have they found the challenge of communicating effectively during the past 12 months? The ladies join Respectfully hosts Nicky Pope and Lauren Stone to talk about the ways in which we’ve all had to raise our game for social and business building. Candid and engaging, it’s a conversation that is uplifting yet realistic.
Jo Martin is a hairdresser who turned to technical training, education and then brand building. Her portfolio of experience includes weighty roles working for the likes of Schwarzkopf Professional, and ghd. Today she has her own consultancy business working with clients including Hot Tools, and BaByliss Pro. She has held the roles of chair of the Fellowship For British Hairdressing and is project leader for The Knowledge online education platform.
Melissa Timperley trained with Sassoon Salons and graduated to become a qualified teacher and assessor. As well as cutting, she has added to her creative and colour skills with the Wella Master Colour Expert qualification. In December 2016 opened Melissa Timperley Salons in Cheshire, and has collected quite a gallery of awards for customer service and business.
