Talent, passion and dedication to her team and her industry has paid off – Sally Brooks was rewarded earlier this week with the title British Hairdresser of the Year. And rightly so! From meeting Sally on the floor of Trevor Sorbie’s first Covent Garden salon back in the 90s, when she was dating her partner-to-be Jamie Brooks, we’ve loved her. And so have thousands of hairdressers around the globe. In 2001 Sally and Jamie opened their first Brooks&Brooks salon in central London, from where they’ve grown many new stars in hairdressing, as well as demonstrating how to run a successful business, provide premium education, and plan awesome stage shows.
Within years they were in the British Hairdressing Awards Hall of Fame. Now it’s cool to see Sally going forward as a strong independent role model for women in hairdressing. We’ve got all year to enthuse more. For now, we’ve compiled a little photo album to remind you of some of Sally’s contributions to growing British hairdressing. We’re sure there’s more to come.
