A round of applause to the winners of Wella Professionals competition for hairdressing students, XPOSURE.

The competition started with hundreds of photographic entries, showcasing the competitors’ hairdressing skills to create the best commercial cut and colour look. The winners of this then went on to take part in the XPOSURE 2019 regional heats, which took place around the UK and Ireland.

The final

A total of 32 finalists battled it out at the final held at the Wella World Studio in London earlier this month. Finalists were required to style their model at the studio, before parading them in front of the esteemed judges – Nicky Clarke, Jordanna Cobella and Angelo Vallillo. Finalists were supported on the day by an audience of college lecturers and salon managers.

GenerationNOW Team

Added bonus

To add further excitement to the day, finalists and guests were treated to inspirational demos and hair shows from  icons including Medusa’s Colin McAndrew and Peter Mellon, as well as Wella’s GenerationNow team. The day also included presentations on Wella’s eEducation platform, and an insight into 2019 trends, which proceeded the winners’ presentation.

All gold, silver and bronze award winners won a bespoke tailor-made mentoring day with XPOSURE 2019 Mentors Angelo Vallillo from DNA Art Space and Peter Mellon from Medusa.

In addition, gold award winners are invited on an exclusive behind-the-scenes experience at the TrendVision Award 2019 UK and Ireland final. They will also receive a £1000 tailor-made education programme for their personal development, (including expert advice on how to maximise their creative potential), a hairdressing tool kit worth £500 and a Wella Professionals XPOSURE trophy. Silver and bronze winners will also receive Wella tailor-made education programmes, tool kits and trophies.
