Fergal at the march

We’re huge fans of the Pride march and it’s importance to so many people, so we were super excited to hear that Wella Professionals became an official sponsor and marked the occasion with two limited edition products. We spoke to Wella World Studio leader, James Stanhope and field technical educator, Fergal Doyle who joined the march to find out how they feel about Pride…

What does Pride mean to you?
JS: A celebration of a community coming together for acceptance.
FD: As I celebrate the privileges and freedoms that were fought for by LGBTQ+ activists, I remember the struggles of many people in the world who do not have the same rights as I do.

How important is it for you that Wella sponsored Pride in London?
JS: To be the first manufacturer taking part in the march makes me feel very proud.
FD: I am so privileged to work for a company where what makes you different, makes you special, makes you YOU, is an asset.

This year’s Pride in London theme was ‘Pride Matters’. What’s your take on this?
JS: We are all equal and love is love. We should celebrate unity, friendship and respect for one another.
FD: Pride gives LGBTQ+ people agency to tell our story and for our voices to be heard. We need Pride to continue the fight for rights across the globe.

What was your highlight of the day?
JS: Watching people realise that Wella were part of the parade and telling us how much they love and use the products.
FD: Being cheered along in the parade by people of every age, race, gender, colour and creed. To have tens of thousands of people line the streets to celebrate love was something I never thought I would experience. It was emotional.

Thanks guys! #WellaPrideUK #ShowYourPride
