Vendela

Vendela model for calligraphy cut

You’ve seen Anthony Mascolo’s collaborative collection with Calligraphy Cut (refresh your mind HERE). We’re thrilled to share an exclusive step-by-step on our favourite look within the collection. If you’ve already got your hands on the Calligraphy Cut pen, then follow the Vendela look and share your results with us on @respectforhair.

Get the Vendela look

  1. This is Vendela before
  2. Take a profile part then a diagonal back section from the top of the head to the occipital bone.
  3. Starting at the centre of the forehead, comb the hair slightly forwards and create a face framing graduation
  4. Slide the Calligraphy pen from the front towards the length at the sides at a low elevation
  5. Once the connection is made to the perimeter, detail the length at the back by gently edging the ends for softness
  6. Now release the remaining hair at the top
  7. Over-direct the hair slightly forwards and complete the graduation
  8. Using the previous guide at a low elevation
  9. Repeat the same technique on the opposite side
  10. Slide the Calligraphy pen from the front towards the length at the sides at a low elevation
  11. While carving the forward graduation, maintain consistency to the other side to achieve balance within the shape
  12. Blow-dry the hair with the hands to encourage the hair’s natural movement.
