The Little Princess Trust Needs You

With salons back in business it’s time to push for donations again for The Little Princess Trust. As proud partners of the charity, one of the incredible ways Great Lengths and their salons support them is by donating used extensions when clients are finished with them.

How it works

  • 300 grams makes one child’s wig – on average that’s 2 heads of extensions.
  • Extensions must be 16 inches or longer
  • Clients can donate their great lengths hair through the salon that applied them
  • They are used to make children’s wigs in exactly the same way as regular hair donations.
Sadly, during the covid-19 pandemic, the making of Great Lengths wigs was temporarily halted. The regular overseas manufacturer was unable to produce them as usual. This has now led to The little Princess trust sourcing UK manufacturers.

Since switching to local manufacturers, seven full wigs have been created for children using only Great Lengths hair. Amazing! If you didn’t already know, wig making is an extremely Labour-intensive process – it takes about 60 hours to create one wig. So it truly is remarkable that these were achieved.

Great Lengths Donation
Now salons are back open across the UK. The little princess trust are hoping to produce another 10 Great Lengths wigs. They just need your help to make it happen. If you are a Great Lengths salon already, and you or any of your clients want to ditch the lockdown locks, it’s super easy to take part…

How to get involved

  • Remove extensions as normal
  • Pack in the pre-provided kit.
  • Send it off
Simple! We think this is a great cause to be apart of and really makes a point of difference to the salons taking part.
