The barbiecore blow-dry

Barbie’s trademark bouncy blond hair is perfectly reflected on actress Margot Robbie for the new Barbie movie. In case you live under a rock, the much-awaited film screens in UK cinemas from 21st July, (but premieres in London on the 12th so watch the socials people). Margot pairs enviable outfits with vivacious hair on the movie press tour and has the paparazzi attention for it. But where’s the best place to get a Barbiecore blow-dry? We’ve rounded up 6 of the best salons in London that offer Barbie blow-dries even Margot would approve of. Why not work up a local vibe for your own salon taking the following as examples;

Kitch Hair – Angel

Kitch is a genderless, Islington-based concept salon with a 1950’s pastel kitchen interior. Kitch says it embraces clients’ differences and celebrates individuality. With a talented roster of stylists, Kitch offers a bouncy Barbie blow-dry or a new pink colour using Kevin.Murphy Colour.Me products. It’s easy to imagine a real-life Barbie having her hair done inside this cute salon and hopefully clients will, too.

All Shook Up – Clapham

All Shook Up is a sustainable and gender-neutral salon with a holistic approach to consultations, lifestyle and wellness. All Shook Up offers organic and cruelty-free solutions with the help of Kevin.Murphy. We hear the stylists at All Shook Up are experts at the soft but natural wave Margot has been sporting on her Barbie press tour. Again, take the cue from the film’s launch to promote that for yourself.

SALON64 – Soho

SALON64 has everything enviable in a luxe salon; a high-end setting, expertly mixed cocktails and an utterly bespoke blow-dry. We hear the stylists at SALON64 are regulars creating red-carpet hair and looks for London Fashion Week. The décor features a regal blue colour theme with pops of raspberry pink – so Barbie! Perfect for Instagram after pics… ensure you do the same for your clients to take their pics.

Sisters Salon – Chelsea

Founded by sisters Emma and Ashley, this Chelsea salon counts Courtney Black, Em the Nutritionist and Summer Genes as clients. What a list! Masters of the bouncy blow-dry, these ladies create some serious gloss with their treatments, thanks to their 20 years of combined experience in hair. Take inspo Barbie-core stylists!

Glo – Fulham

Fulham-based Glo is a one-stop shop for bouncy, glossy hair. Glo says its talented stylists are pros at achieving a blow-dry that Barbie would be proud of. They are passionate about keeping hair fabulous outside of the salon, too, with their expert advice and retail product selection… a good way to tie in the Barbie obsession by building business.

Shadi Salon – Fitzrovia

Shadi’s blow-dry features two rounds of Kevin.Murphy Detox shampoo before a Kevin.Murphy conditioning masque and hot towel treatment to nourish hair. Perfect for those wanting to get their hair summer-ready, this blow-dry will provide bounce and shine whilst repairing hair. We like the way of tying in the Barbie theme with the necessary focus on condition during summer blonde madness!
