Summer Trends

We’ve got the low-down from Great Lengths about this summer’s trending services to completely transform you client’s tresses. Whether it be a low-maintenance glow-up or to simply add volume – here’s what GL’s top UK salons had to say about this summers trends…

A natural boost – Westrow, Westpark

‘Great Lengths tapes are such a versatile way of bringing hair to life and giving the hair a natural-looking boost’ says Franchisee Page. ‘My personal favourite is to add tapes to my guests’ hair where it’s needed most. Be that to add length and thickness to those weaker front areas or to fill in areas where the hair is naturally thinner, this technique gives an overall thicker appearance to the entire head.

‘We can get really creative and use the tapes to create beautiful depth, adding different shades and tones to our guests’ hair without the commitment of a permanent colour service. It’s a great way to try a seasonal trend. The quality of the hair is outstanding, and our guests are in love with the process and result.’

Volume row – Christina Reilly Hair, Makeup and Beauty, Glasgow

‘A volume row is a fast and effective way to enhance natural hair without damage and is ideal for adding weight and volume to the skinny ends of the hair’ says Christina Reilly. ‘It fills in gaps in the hair and adds length to shorter, finer sides. It’s also the perfect way to lock in curls and waves for longer, especially if your natural hair struggles to hold a style.

What clients really love about a volume row is that it’s suitable for almost every hair type, even really fine hair, as it adds very little weight, making it perfect for hot Summer days. A lot of my clients have recently switched from having a full head of extensions to the more simplistic approach of having a volume row; I think lockdown has led to people wanting more natural, low maintenance looks and as this only uses around 30 pieces of Great Lengths pre-bonded hair, it’s time-effective, taking approximately one hour, so can even be done during a customer’s lunch break!’

A flash of colour – Russell Eaton, Leeds

‘As warmer weather approaches, clients often want to go lighter’ says Robert Eaton. ‘But it is a big colour commitment, which some customers can understandably be nervous about. Great Lengths are a great alternative for anyone wanting to freshen up their colour this summer. There are 28 shades of blonde available and we can incorporate more than one tone to create lowlights or highlights with a seamless and natural colour blend using either Great Lengths keratin bonds or GL Tapes.

And finally, for clients looking for a more fashion-forward trend, GL limited edition colours are the dreamiest of solutions to enhance your clients’ natural base shade and add depth, length and colour.  Why not throw in some fashion colours – Peach Blonde, Strawberry Blonde and Brown Rose – which are perfect for a quick and fresh summer twist and extra dimension to hair, without having to consider maintenance.’
