Spotlight your talent with the iconic L’Oréal Colour Trophy which is back (for the 67th year indeed) with a new social-first category. Yep, in 2023 the new L’Oréal Colour Trophy Moving Image Award category is open to entrants working in a salon or as an independent stylist. We’re on board! Tell us more…
The Moving Image Award is an exciting evolution in the world’s longest-running live hairdressing competition celebrating hair artistry. And there’s more besides. There will be new prizes and more opportunities than ever to compete live at the Grand Final. Entrants, if successful, will go straight into competing live at two of the biggest nights in the industry’s calendar – the UK and Ireland Grand Finals.
Growing and evolving talent
Since 1954, the L’Oréal Colour Trophy has spotlighted the talent of our industry, with literally thousands of competitors from across the UK and Ireland. Here’s how it works:
Categories
The competition invites entrants across all categories to create a colour look on a model of any gender or gender identity. The model can have any hair type, with the Afro Award specialising in a hair type texture between 3C and 4C. There is a category for everyone.
With 6 categories* to choose from in the UK and 4 categories to choose from in Ireland, here are the opportunities to spotlight your talent this year.
- ✓ L’Oréal Colour Trophy Award: A total look award that requires entrants to create a colour look on any model of any gender or gender identity of any hair type.
- ✓ L’Oréal Colour Trophy STAR Award: For 16-25-year-olds, a before and after photo is required to enter and STAR entrants will be interviewed on their work by the judges should they successfully reach the Grand Final stage.
- ✓ L’Oréal Colour Trophy Afro Award (UK only): A total look award that requires entrants to create a colour look on any model of any gender or gender identity of a hair type texture between 3C and 4C.
- ✓ L’Oréal Colour Specialist Award (UK only): For those hair colour aficionados who have passed the 15-day L’Oréal Colour Specialist Diploma. Entrants must create a colour look on a model of any gender or gender identity of any hair type.
