Saving the Ocean

Is there anything Davines can’t do when it comes to saving the planet? The B Corp brand is continuing their partnership with Plastic Bank and have introduced a new scheme which focuses on the fight against ocean plastic.

For every product sold by Davines Group – Davines haircare and Comfort Zone skincare – an equal amount of ocean-bound plastic will be collected. Incredible, right? The ambitious target consolidates the brand’s commitment to ocean regeneration.

We are well aware that in the hair and beauty world plastic is the most extensively used material, especially when it comes to packaging products. By removing the equivalent amount of plastic deriving from sales of products, Davines Group will achieve neutralisation of plastic emissions and will obtain Plastic Neutral certification from Plastic Bank.

“Plastic Neutral certification in 2022 confirms two of our main values: care and innovation. Packaging is one of the most significant impact-generating areas of the beauty industry, so we set ourselves the aim of contributing with projects that give positive, concrete and global results. Our commitment starts from the supply chain, which must guarantee increasingly sustainable raw materials, and permeates through the eco- design of packaging right through to the identification of regenerative and circular solutions that can lengthen the lifespan of products”, Anthony Molet, Chief Executive Officer of Davines Group.

The main focus of this campaign is regeneration, the collected plastic will be reprocessed for reintroduction into the global supply chain, giving it a new lease of life. It will also contribute to improving the lives of  local collectors within the coastal communities of Brazil, Indonesia and the Philippines.
