Re-UNITEd at the Oscars

Last weekend saw one of the hottest red carpet events of the year – the 2022 Oscars. Whilst the main event has slightly been over-shadowed by a certain conflict, we’re here to remind you of some of the incredible hair styles that were seen on the red carpet. But, what do they all have in common? These six smashing looks have all been styled by UNITE’s finest stylists using the trusty range of products to achieve the best hair possible.

Nazanin Mandi

@aja.hitomi

Eduardo Ponce created these soft, glam Hollywood waves on Nazanin Mandi. To create this look start by prepping damp hair with boosta volumizing spray for volume & body.  Then, apply smooth&shine styling cream from mid to ends for moisture, shine, to smooth & protect from heat tools. Once styled, finish with session-max hairspray for an extra strong hold, and 7seconds glossing spray for long-lasting, high shine.

Khloe Kardashian

@cesar4styles

César DeLeön Ramîrez traded Khloe’s long mermaid locks for a French bob for the Oscars after-party. “The inspo was Parisian Bob/Michelle Pfeiffer in ScarFace,” says Cesar, who created her new head-turning style by cutting extensions short, and using UNITE products. “To start I prepped my hair pieces with a few drops of blonde oil and smoothed everything to control frizz, to heat protect and to add a light shine.Once all the hair was smoothed and cut into a bob I used my texturiza texture spray to give the look a ‘piecey’ textured lived-in vibe.
 To finish, I created bends using my fingers and sprayed a little 7seconds glossing spray for shine.”

Madison Bailey

@chousner

Madison Bailey rocked a stunning chignon courtesy of Courtney Housner. Madison went from went and curly to sleek and straight for Elton John’s after-party. Courtney prepped with 7seconds detangler, then applied U oil before flat ironing. Courtney needs workable hair to create the chignon so used le:play hairspray from start to finish.

Ciara

@ciara

Ciara heated up the red carpet with a liquid waves, styled by César DeLeön Ramîrez. “When creating a wet look, the trick is really to layer multiple products and it’s important in what order you layer those products,” says Cesar. “I always start on towel scrunched, damp hair. This allows the natural texture to reveal itself. Then, I use a leave-in conditioner, like 7seconds detangler. This step is important to help maintain the hydration in the hair. Next, I layer elevate mousse and gel to really hold the texture well. I then layer a large amount of U oil for a super high shine. To seal, I spray session-max strong-hold hairspray to get the ultimate hold all night. Lastly, I hit it with a blow dryer and diffuser on a low setting until everything is dry but it still looks super wet.”

Rita Ora

We are loving Rita Ora’s beautifully dressed out set by Sami Knight. Here’s how she did it: “Apply boosta volumizing spray all over wet hair and rough dry using the medium heat on the blow dryer. Don’t make the hair too smooth, as you want to keep a little fluffiness in it, and the heat from the iron will also smooth it out more.
 Using a 1” curling iron, make barrel curls (like a ribbon) all over the head in 1” by 2” rectangular sections. Spray each section with le:play hairspray before you use the iron. Slide the hot barrel off the iron and pin the section with a small clip or Bobby pin. Do this all over the head, following a side part of the hair, making the curls go from part to ear on each side, framing the face. When totally cooled, use a soft bristle brush and brush out all the curls. I like to use a drop of second day finishing crème on my hands to smooth any fly aways at the root. Don’t be scared to leave the bottom fluffy. Pull the hair back on the shorter side of the part, and secure it with a Bobby pin underneath the bulk of the hair on top to hide it.Once happy with the brush out, set the hair with session-max spray to hold the style in all night long!”

Jessica Alba

@brittneyryanhair

We love the texture Jessica Alba rocked on the red carpet thanks to talented hair stylist Brittney Ryan. Brittney has shared her tips on how to recreate the look: “Prep with boosta volumizing spray. Blowdry hair & add Hidden Crown clip-in hair extensions to add some length in front and volume. Divide the hair into workable sections, spray each section with le:play hairspray, and lightly clamp down mermade hair pro waver 32mm starting about 2” from the scalp. Wave each section of the hair throughout entire head. Once the hair is waved, complete the look with texturise finishing foam, and second day to give it a textured wavy look.
