Rachel Cardy has over 30 years of hairdressing experience and specialises in supporting those suffering with hair loss, thinning and helps her clients understand their hair as it grows back after treatment. New to the Roots Professional range, Rachel was delighted with the results and shares her story with us.

“I have always had a passion for hair loss and it started when I was at college. I was the ‘geek hairdresser’, when my fellow students were going out, I was at the library swotting up about hair loss, I am so pleased I did!
I have always provided wigs and advise on hair loss and was invited to help Trevor Sorbet re-shuffle ‘My New Hair’ with other passionate hairdressers, an experience I loved. I have also managed salons to increase their business and increase their retail marketing, which I believe is totally relevant to hair loss. This led me to become an ambassador for a product brand that specialises in hair loss for 14 years.
I also partnered with Jane Scarth House, my local Cancer charity. They sent their patients to me so I could help them with their hair loss journey and in return offered me counselling – there were some very sad days, and I’m grateful for the way I was supported by the charity. I set up a post-Cancer group called ‘Staying Strong’, we meet four times a year and raise money for Jane Scarth House. To date, Staying Strong has raised more than £2,000 for the charity.
I then chose to step away from the brand I was working with as I was no longer getting the results my clients needed. That’s when I discovered Roots Professional. I reached out to Roots and was sent the full range to try for myself. I had the perfect client to use for my case study – fast forward two months she had amazing results!

I recently held an open evening and invited 20 clients. We had fruit and bubbles, which was a great success. I educated them on the Roots Professional range and showed them how to use it. I absolutely love the Roots ethos and the science behind it and am glad I made the transition to work with this brand.”
