OSMO IKON® launches colour-changing BLEACH SEEKER Shampoo

OSMO IKON® has introduced a clever new addition to the colourist’s toolkit: BLEACH SEEKER Shampoo.

Developed to help create cleaner, more predictable toning results, the shampoo uses a colour-changing formula to reveal whether residual lightener particles remain in the hair after the lightening process.

As the formula detects traces of bleach, it changes from yellow to pink, giving colourists a clear visual cue that further cleansing is needed.

How to use

After your lightener has processed, rinse thoroughly and apply OSMO IKON® BLEACH SEEKER. Emulsify for up to 3 minutes.

Yellow stays yellow? The hair is ready to rinse and tone.

Seeing pink? There’s still lightener hiding in the hair. Shampoo again until the formula stays yellow.

No guesswork. No overthinking. Just cleaner blondes and better colour results.

The Science of Bleach Seeker with OSMO Technical Educator, Terry Longden

“When there are even the smallest (and sometimes invisible) particles of bleach in the hair, which can adversely affect toning, the colour indicator contained within the new OSMO IKON BLEACH SEEKER shampoo formula will detect the high pH of the bleach (or permanent colour) and turn the foam pink. As soon as all the residue is removed, the pH of the hair has lowered, the shampoo will only deliver yellow foam.

I’d use BLEACH SEEKER as my initial bleach remover until the pink has gone, then follow up with the OSMO IKON® CHROMAPLEX Shampoo, Sealer and Conditioner for ‘bond insurance’ on that freshly lightened hair to ensure a clean balanced canvas for even toning.

I also use BLEACH SEEKER for the initial removal of my permanent colours as I find the powerful cleaning agents are helpful, especially on darker and more staining colours, also the colour indicator lets me know all the colour product has gone, I then follow on with the desired shampoo and conditioner for the hair type.

The new OSMO IKON Bleach Seeker is us colourist’s greatest ally when it comes to helping create the perfect canvas for toning, as it ensures the removal of unseen bleach particles that can get locked into the most porous of hair resulting in patchy or bandy blondes.”
