On Monday we joined Oribe for their #OribeObsessed brand experience day to catch up on all things products, passion for the brand, and why Oribe? Hairdressers and salon owners from around the country and Northern Ireland came together to enjoy this special day at The Academy in Soho. It was exciting to hear Oribe’s plans for the upcoming 12 months and all the latest product launches to add to their expanding portfolio.
So, who is Oribe?
Oribe Canales was a Cuban-born hairdresser with passion, most known for creating sexy, big, beautiful hair that came synonymous with the rise of 90s supermodels… Oribe is known to have worked with some of the biggest and best in the world, with a portfolio including Gianni Versace, Marc Jacobs, and the famous J.LO… What a resume he has built up!
No doubt Oribe created a beautiful brand in 2008 dedicated to styling products…They crafted every detail from scratch, from the formulations to the fragrance to the design. We enjoyed discovering more about the background of Oribe and where the brand originated from.
What else happened? #OribeObsessed
Next, we got passionate with Irene Meikle in her seminar all about ‘Passion Wins’…We established what components you need to feel passion, so what are those?
- Head – creativity and inspiration
- Hands – skill and craft
- Heart – passion and love for what you do
Whys, talents, and visions
And it’s true, we work in a creative industry where these components ultimately determine success whether we like it or not… As Madonna once said in her song ‘Express yourself’ – “without the heart, there can be no understanding between the hand and the mind.” This inspiring conversation helped us establish our whys, talents, and visions, to help better ourselves on how to achieve success.
Consumer insights 2024
It’s always interesting for brands to compare themselves with others to gauge how well business is going…That’s why Sales Manager, Graham Crooks, gave an insight to consumer insights 2024… And it’s impressive to hear that whilst a lot of industries have struggled over the past few years, the luxury market has gone untouched. In 2023, the luxury market continued to grow, seeing a 130% growth… Pretty interesting, IMO! People haven’t stopped shopping it seems.
Products, products, products
After a lovely lunch, we got to hear more about the products, how they work and which products work best with different hair types. The hairdressers’ then had a chance to put their knowledge into practice by creating a number of looks with a variety of Oribe products. It was a day full of learning, totally inspiring!
