Sunday night, we had the joy of stepping into Oribe’s annual holiday soirée in Milan – the city of fashion and art. This year marked the eighth collaboration between Oribe and an artist, we were delighted to be there for the big reveal.
For 2025, the spotlight is on Kustaa Saksi, a Finnish multidisciplinary artist now based in Amsterdam. His work spans textiles, installations, and bold graphic storytelling, and has been shown in museums and galleries around the world. He’s collaborated with some of the biggest names in fashion: Nike, Salvatore Ferragamo and Bergdorf Goodman. However, this is Kustaa’s very first step into haircare, and let me tell you… the result is stunning!

As Co-Founder Daniel Kaner put it “The art collaborations are part of the brand’s DNA.” Oribe doesn’t just decorate with art, but truly lives and breathes it.”
Jennifer Smith shared: “I’ve had the privilege to be at Oribe and see how the artistic mindset has been applied to everything we do, whether that’s product development or education. It’s the magic that fills the space between all of the things that the brand does.”

Golden Threads
This year’s collection is called Golden Threads, inspired by the Norse goddess Lady Sif, famed for her golden hair. Kustaa designed a tapestry that mixes his signature woven textures and bold patterns with Oribe’s elements. A rich palette of black, cream, and ‘Super Shine’ blue, beautifully intwined with hints of gold. It’s dramatic, luxurious, and instantly collectible.

Hair Comes to Life
A highlights of the evening was seeing Nicci Welsh take the mythic inspiration and translate it into hair. On stage, she created her own vision of Lady Sif. On long, wavy hair, she secured sections in three places at the back of the head before weaving in golden threads. A simple but striking detail that made the hair look like living jewellery. Then with Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray, she lifted the crown to give it volume and presence. The result was regal, radiant, and full of movement.
