We were thrilled to join the Oribe Signature event in Milan earlier this Summer. This is a brand who knows how to deliver a great experience, creating haircare and service that is delightful to receive. So it stands to reason they’ll throw a great gathering, too, right? Right!

Oribe: The man, the legend
One of the most interesting aspects of a Signature event for Oribe is sharing the heritage story of the brand. The name Oribe comes from Oribe Canales himself – a Cuban hairdresser who became and important part of the celebrity glamour of the USA/New York scene in the 70s/80s.

Charming and gifted, Oribe worked with the supermodels as a hairdresser and became their friend. He ran with the likes of Steven Meisel and Francois Nars, and was close with Gianni Versace. It’s the legacy of Oribe’s penchant for the most luxurious, most premium things in life, but imbued with impeccable style and attention to detail.

In Milan, we heard from Daniel Kaner, president and co-founder with Oribe of the brand we know today. Oribe died in 2018 but Daniel keeps him firmly front of the story of this glorious brand. To understand Oribe, is to understand the signature style of the brand. Why every detail matters. Why the look, the performance, the authenticity of the brand is key.

Sharing the vision
As well as exchanging the backstory, the Oribe Signature event was a great opportunity to see creative hairdressers representing the brand from all over the world.

The vibe was La Dolce Vita as were invited to raise a glass and spread a smile, while watching fabulous session stylists whipping up a storm at our luxe hotel party. We loved it.

Being #oribeobsessed is normal for advocates of the Oribe brand and this immersive experience demonstrates this beautifully literally. Thank you Oribe for including us in the party, thie story and the vision. We loved it.
