New Realities is part one of the collections from Schwarzkopf Professional’s Essential Looks 2024. Navigating our New Realities are the people who embrace the modern world as quickly as it changes. They are passionate about pushing the boundaries and limits of the physical, bringing elements of make-believe and digital realms into what they wear, what they say and how they think. Whether it’s through developments in technology or questioning the balance of human vs machine, the inhabitants of our New Realities are smart and solipsistic, and live in the space between reality and fiction: the phygital.
The New Realities trend brings the colours and textures of the digital world into the physical. Exploring what we have dubbed the phygital through style, brighter, neon and electric hues dominate the looks, conveying a current of eternal youthfulness and exploration onto the runway and into the salon. Think DIY outfits that put a spotlight on colour clashing and metallic tones that mimic the tech we hold in our hands.

“My inspiration came from the veil between the real world and the digital world, and my looks use veil techniques to echo that. My salon look was inspired by the different light and depth of a pink moon reflecting off dark water.” – Gigi

Colour: Shadowy glint of gentle colour animates the hair to create your own, avatar-inspired style.
