Must-have haircuts this winter

Cold weather, hot styles. Discover what these pros are predicting to be the top trending haircuts this winter.

Sabrina Carpenter Bangs

“Face frames and fringes are always trending in some shape or form, but Sabrina Carpenter made the fringe super sexy and fun,” says Leal. “This look is best for anyone who’s up for styling their hair often, or who has a natural great hairline with no fuss texture that naturally styled in a place with a kick. Face frames and fringes, I love using UNITE TEXTURIZA Spray to support the style.”

Shaggy Layers

Don’t be afraid to experiment with your layers! “I love the idea of going shorter with the layers, even if we are keeping the perimeter long,” says celebrity hairstylist Erik Jon. “That doesn’t mean you can’t have some shorter pieces going on. If you’re looking for a more layered or shaggy vibe, then this may be the one to try! I love when a client wants to try something out that may be out of their comfort zone.” If you have normal to thin hair, Jon likes using UNITE BOOSTA Volumizing Spray. “Layers will grow out really nicely, and maintenance is not needed as much as with other styles. Getting a proper hair cut every three to five months is best to keep the shape and health of the hair at its best.”

Face Framing Bob

“Naturally, the lob and bob are making waves again, as they should,” Jon says. “And another trend is having some face framing going on.” It’s no surprise that bobs with face-framing elements are blowing up this winter. “For the best outcome, regardless of hair type or density, a proper hair cut and the right mix of products are essential, and make sure you and the stylist are on the same page with how short you want to go,” he says. “For heat styling or air-drying, I like to always start out with the UITE 7SECONDS Detangler. For thicker hair, I’d recommend adding UNITE U Oil along with SMOOTH&SHINE Styling Cream. If your hair is normal to thinner, opt for a volumizing product like ELEVATE Mousse.

Long Layers

If you love your long hair, you don’t have to part with it: According to celebrity hairstylist Sydney Rose, one of the biggest winter haircuts is simply strong, healthy hair with lots of layers. “Big, round-brush blow drys are going to be the style of the season and a layered haircut takes the style to the next level,” she says. “This cut is great for lots of different textures of hair, just don’t go overboard on the layers if you airdry. If you love your hair styling time and you can tame your texture, go crazy with layers.” Her favourite products for getting the look? UNITE ELEVATE Mousse and GO365 Hairspray.
