At Salon International, we caught educator Melanie McDonald presenting on the Great Lengths stage. We loved the beautiful, natural style she created with GL tapes, so we thought it would be fun to catch up with Melanie and ask her all about it.
About Melanie McDonald
Melanie – a keen extensionist – has been aligned with Great Lengths for ten years. With eight years of being a master at her craft, Great Lengths welcomed Melanie as one of their national technical educators in 2021. Sounds like a match made in heaven! As well as being an educator and an extensionist, Melanie owns Melanie Richards Hair & Beauty, a salon in Peterborough, where she provides Great Lengths extension services among other hairdressing services.

Melanie Richard’s Hair & Beauty Salon is an accredited Great Lengths Gold Salon. It has achieved this prestigious award for an incredible nine consecutive years…woah! On top of this award was the South East Salon of the Year at the GLammies! If you’re unfamiliar with the GLammies, the awards recognise the UK and Ireland’s most talented hair extensionists. It’s safe to say Melanie Richards Hair & Beauty has made a name for itself.

At Salon International, Melanie took to the Great Lengths stage to show off an incredibly cool look. On her model, Melanie showed the application and cutting of GL Tape Slims. Melanie showed that you can use three different colours to create a soft, natural finish, even on a natural redhead.
