How current is your portfolio of low-maintenance-but-high-impact styling tips for shorter hair? Celebrity stylists Gabi Lopez and Eduardo Ponce share head-turning, short-hair styles working with Unite products. Whether it’s maximum volume, texture or a sleek look, here’s your inspo!
Short shag
Client’s lusting after Jenna Ortega’s short shag will adore this. It’s a super-cool shorter style which is undoubtedly now the actress’s signature cut.
Gabi says: “To achieve Jenna’s look, prep damp hair with Unite 7SECONDS Detangler all over. Apply Unite BOOSTA Volumizing Spray section by section at the roots. Finish with Unite BOOSTA Thickening Creme from roots to ends.”
Flat iron waves
So we agree, that perfect S-wave takes some practice to master. Gabi says: “It can be intimidating, so don’t be afraid to practice the hand movement with the iron switched off. These waves are just a quick flip of the wrist. Once you’re happy with the soft texture you’ve created, you can finish with Unite TEXTURIZA Spray for some added volume, fullness and definition. The end goal is a cool-girl tousled, matte finish.”
Tousled pixie
Hasley’s textured pixie cut is a great low-maintenance short wavy hairstyle. This style is perfect for clients who want to spend as little time as possible on their hair…yet still look fabulous.
To achieve the look, celebrity hairstylist and Unite ambassador Eduardo Ponce advises prepping hair with a heat protectant then a blow-dry. He says: “Once dry, use a flat iron to smooth each section and apply Unite SECOND Day Finishing Cream to create definition and texture. A little goes a long way, so use sparingly.”
