LOC Systems

LOC systems is a commercial term used to refer to the order in which you should apply your products as part of your hair care routine, post shampooing. LOC stands for liquid-based (or lotion i.e leave-in conditioner), oil based , cream based. The LOC system is most beneficial for people with natural coily or tight-textured hair, and those who are interested in guarding against moisture loss.

Jacqui McIntosh, Avlon’s European Education Director, shares which products she recommends for use in a LOC system for optimal results.

Liquid

“Some women like to use water within a spray bottle as a wetting agent, we would also strongly recommend using the KeraCare Detangling Mist, suitable for both natural and relaxed hair maintenance.

“It smooths cuticles to gently release tangles and knots and features a masterful blend of moisturising silicones and quaternium conditioners. It imparts optimal hydration and silkening and contains Phyto extracts of the moisturising herb, calendula.”

Oil
