Lighten Up This Winter

Dan Spiller Joico Colour Ambassador

Dan Spiller, Joico Colour Ambassador is an advocate for thinking of ways to lighten up this Winter! Dan points out that we can rethink our traditional colour habits. While we think of the seasons as pairing with particular hair colour shades – warm and rich in Winter, light and bright in Summer – actually, lighter colours in the coming months are attractive, too.

Changing perceptions

Here’s where Dan Spiller has enlightening words: As we begin our transition into the Winter Solstice, the trend in colours shifts to rich darker shades of red, chocolate and navy – but could we start to see more pastels shades in the colder months? We associate pastel shades with the warmer, lighter, summer months, but could they be what we need to lighten up the cold, dark nights?

Dan shows how the Marc Antoni Artistic Team’s latest collection proves that pastels aren’t just for spring with this beautiful exploration of colour. Pastels are often illustrated as soft and delicate colours that resemble the shades of our favourite candy treats. Dan changes our perception of what pastel shades should look like – instead, showcasing a spectrum of cooler, metallic pink, green, purple, and silver pastels.

Pastel accents

The colours that Dan has used for this collection harmonise the overall look, with the pastel accents being the focal point. Over the past few years, pastels have become increasingly popular through their versatility and ability to compliment almost any skin tones. Metallic pinks and purples can brighten a warmer skin tone’s complexion and accentuate and harmonise the face’s features. For those with a cooler undertone, silver is the best colour to brighten their look! This palette makes for an edgy, grungy look, which is ideal for the colder, darker months. As we move into the New Year, encourage your clients to cool down their colour and embrace their inner winter goddess.

Thank you Dan! We’ll be happy to lighten up this Winter, now.
