Leaf Scissors reaches tree planting milestone

Ellie Leaf Scissors

Leaf Scissors has reached a new milestone as part of their tree planting project. The latest count totals out to an incredible 70’000 trees! All generated from the sales of Leaf’s eco-friendly hairdressing tools in which Leaf plants a certain number of trees per product sold. For example, each purchase of the bestselling ‘Black Edition’ scissor amounts to 12 trees being planted.

The maths

The  new tree planting milestone equates to 350 acres or 233 football pitches. The trees planted also have the capability of absorbing almost 1.5 million kg of carbon from the environment per year a truly amazing accomplishment.

Eden Reforestation Projects

It’s Leaf’s partnership with Eden Reforestation Projects that makes this possible, an environmental organisation working all over the world in some of the most impoverished communities – kudos to them.

Eden is unique in its reforestation approach in that it uses only native species of trees while training and employing members of the local community to rear and care for the saplings. This results in a much higher gestation success rate as well as returns a sense of pride and restores the local environment.
